What we call Badab Soort Terraces Springs are in fact two mineral hot springs near Orost village, in the north of Iran. If you search Badab-e Surt on Google Maps, you will find it west of Orost village in Mazandaran Province. But what is so special about a spring you might wonder. Badab-e Surt is one of the few springs in the world situated in the midst of colorful travertine terraces. The deep-colored terraces are the result of thousands of years of mineral water eruption. Different carbonate minerals in the water of the springs have worked magic by creating many hues of travertine terraces. The stunning vista as seen from the top of the springs during the sunset is one of the most spellbinding sights in the world.
